☊ snl korea with shinhwa: hangover part 2 ☊

Oh, Shinhwa oppa-deul... what are you guys doing to me!? o_O




Caught the SNL live streaming last night and stayed up until the wee hours of the morning screaming my heart out from re-watching the clips. I couldn't really sleep afterwards, not peacefully anyway. Just the mere thought of the scenes make me scream uncontrollably. I was sure I would be hoarse today nyaha ㅋㅋㅋ.



Woke up in a daze. Moments from those insane SNL sketches crept into my consciousness and I just had to scream again. And yes, this is in the early morning! There are things you cannot un-see from the Shinhwa episode of SNL aigoooooooooooooo.

There are TONS of gifs and screen caps out there now... I totally applaud the fangirls who managed to get their wits together to create those! An amazing win for willpower vs. exploding ovaries! Hehehe, this fandom is really astounding ^^.



For me, I'm still re-watching the clips at the moment... Talk about a beautiful way to spend a hormonal Sunday, right? I just wanted to take to this blog and set my madness into writing. I mean, the members' variety sense was just beyond EPIC for this SNL episode! I was screaming incessantly (seriously, you can ask my neighbors) for Eric, Andy and Minwoo on all their jaw dropping antics!!!!! And oh wow, I've missed Dongwan oppa sooooo much~~ I kept gushing at his handsome role on the first sketch. Junjin oppa was JUST ADORABLE when he was sweating at the mention of boxer ex-girlfriend nyahaha ~~~~ And then of course, there is HYESUNG OPPA ㅠㅠㅠㅠㅠㅠㅠㅠㅠㅠㅠㅠ.



I'm hoping to make sense out of how I feel about Hyesung oppa's ehem "exposures" on his sketches. I CAN'T FIND WORDS for how I am responding to the biker sketch in particular ~분노의 질주. I am infinitely PROUD of Hyesung oppa for being so immensely funny on his 2 minute appearance! His closeups were just PERFECTION ㅋㅋㅋ... And his expressions were PRICELESS!!!! Cannot un-see, cannot unthink, cannot LET GO of this moment~ really. This sketch is almost life-changing methinks aigoooooooya~

So who's currently watching this addicting Gu's Family Book?!?! o_O

It wasn't such a wise decision to pick up watching Episode 4 on a work night… I ended up watching up to Episode 7 'til the wee hours of the morning earlier! I didn't intend to do a mini marathon but the story was too intriguing to abandon for the night … Ahh, my poor willpower can only hold back so much.

Anyway, here is Lee Seunggi from a recent Airstar magazine edition.






I think Seunggi's charms grow on you the more you watch him. I've seen him from Strong Heart, Shining Inheritance, My Girlfriend is a Gumiho and The King 2 Hearts~ and he really makes you believe in and root for his character ㅋㅋㅋ. His portrayal of Choi KangChi in Gu Family Book is no different. He managed to get me cheering for his bold, sometimes arrogant, but nevertheless endearing character. Now I've just finished Episode 8 (had it on as soon as I arrived from work!) and I've just learned that Papa Gumiho (Choi Jinhyuk) has been confirmed to be coming back in the next episodes... so I just CAN'T WAIT FOR NEXT WEEK!

I did some spring cleaning today and came upon some old guilty pleasures ... kpop magazines! Back when I was just starting on this fandom and suju was just starting to gain worldwide acclaim, there were limited fan merchandise to indulge in. I clearly remember coming back from Seoul with neither Spao nor Everysing weighing down on my luggage. And so back then, I fed my addiction with magazines. I guess that was how my habit of visiting magazine stands at airports came about. I happily picked out some stuff from HK and SG and of course from Korea even though there were limited English on the magazines. I guess I've kept these for almost 5 years now ...



I was browsing through these today, feeling nostalgic about suju's old pictures ... when I saw these!!!

But seriously, this moment is just endearing. I love how Hyesung relies on Jinnie a LOT on seriously perfecting his pose. And a million ❤'s for Jinnie for sincerely helping his hyung on something he's quite shy about.

Check out how awesome my in-flight music selection was while on board Malaysian Airlines. Perfect choices, right?!



I was headed for KL, Malaysia at that time and was delightfully surprised at my Korean music options! I was there for official business a couple of weeks ago... yeah, sadly not for any kpop event huh? It has been a long while since I last visited KL so I was feeling amazed at all the hallyu influences all over the place ㅋㅋㅋ.

I didn't really have much free time to go around but I managed to slip into a music store at one mall to check out their Kpop offerings. This extensive spread was impressive.



The magazine stands boast of these Korean-inspired covers too!




The inner fangirl in me was screaming "Manse!!" seeing how Malaysia has embraced this now global Kpop phenomenon. KL also felt like a more welcome place with all these familiar sightings.It's a curious feeling being a foreign fangirl in a location outside of Seoul and my hometown... There is a strange sense of awkward pride and inexplicable amusement ㅋㅋ. This fandom is indeed a big complicated network and there is only so much you can fathom at one time!

So I finally got my copy of Hyesung oppa's Winter Poetry ❤(thanks to a colleague who's back from her Seoul vacation ^^). I guess this officially kicks off my Shinhwa collection? Hahaha, why do I feel like it signifies opening a whole new Pandora's box of albums, posters, photobooks, wardrobe and whatnots? ㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋ





I think I've seen most of Hyesung oppa's promotional activities last year so I knew well enough that his album came with all the really pretty yet modestly subtle bling. And yet I was still quite awed while unboxing and flipping through the photobook... Everything felt so delicate and profound and serene (yeah, I'm strange, I know~~).

And I mean ... Hyesung oppa's CLOSE-UP's. I mean how can that not be AMAZING!?!? *sigh*

Coffee and pretty pastries at Paris Baguette ^^. This was how I finally met my dear friend who introduced me to this Shinhwa madness! We met in person for the first time and spent 3 hours (i think, could be more?) spazzing over Shinhwa oppa's ㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋ We bored the hell out of my other friend hahahaha but there was just no stopping the powerful fangirl loving ^^.

Patient Zero... she to me is the root of all this hysteria ㅋㅋㅋ. No matter what, I will always be thankful to those key influences who shared this great happiness and eternal inspiration in my life. Until we meet again!!!! 진심으로 고마워요 ^^
